"Control is an illusion that you must give up" - Grace Sara

In our relentless pursuit of control, we often deceive ourselves into believing that we hold sway over everything and everyone. However, a profound realization dawns upon us – our understanding of control might be flawed. True control lies in mastering ourselves, influencing how we respond to situations, perceive the world, and above all, in guiding our actions. It is within this journey towards ultimate submission and in the journey of life, that the magic we so crave, resides.

"The only real security is not in owning or possessing, not in demanding or expecting, but living in the present and accepting it as it is now." - Anne Morrow Lindbergh

In our quest for dominance, we grapple with the illusion of control, as if orchestrating the universe were within our grasp. The illusion arises when we attempt to dictate the uncontrollable, neglecting the profound truth, that the only domain we govern is ourselves.

Attempting to control external elements often leads to stress and frustration. True empowerment emerges when we recognize the limits of our control and focus on navigating the storms of life rather than vainly trying to alter their course. The chief task in life is simply this: to identify and separate matters so that I can say clearly to myself which are externals not under my control, and which have to do with the choices I actually control.

"Relinquish your attachment to the known, step into the unknown, and you will step into the field of all possibilities."- Deepak Chopra

As we relinquish the illusion of control, we encounter the concept of true submission – surrendering to the Divine Will, to the acknowledgment that we are not architects of other people's actions or the outcomes that unfold. This submission is not a resignation of power but an acknowledgment that certain aspects are beyond our influence. Submission to the Divine Will involves releasing our grip on predefined outcomes, trusting in a higher plan, and finding solace in the unfolding journey. This submission, rooted in humility and faith, aligns with the Stoic principle of amor fati, the love of fate. As Marcus Aurelius wisely notes, "Very little is needed to make a happy life; it is all within yourself, in your way of thinking."

"You can't stop the waves, but you can learn to surf" - Jon Kabat-Zinn

Amidst the surrender to the Divine Will, we discover our true control lies in choosing our path in the journey of life. This journey is not merely a means to an end; it's where the magic resides. Choosing our path involves conscious decisions, resilience, and an unwavering commitment to experiencing the richness and magic embedded in the journey, rather than fixating on a predetermined destination.

"We must be willing to let go of the life we have planned, so as to have the life that is waiting for us." - E.M. Forster

As we unravel the illusion of control, embrace submission to the Divine Will, and recognize our agency in choosing our life's path, we unlock the true essence of control. In unravelling the illusion of control, we discover the liberating truth that our realm of influence centres on ourselves. Ultimate submission to the Divine Will releases us from the shackles of attempting to control the uncontrollable. As we navigate life's journey, choosing our path with intentionality, we unearth the magic that lies not just in the destination but in the very essence of the j itself.
